Touring Company

Auditions for NCTC's 2010-2011 Touring Company Production of  Pioneer Drama's

Beauty and the Beast (a musical based on the original fairy tale)

are scheduled for

Thursday, September 9 from 6 pm to 9 pm

Friday, September 10 from 6 pm to 9 pm

Saturday, September 11 from noon to 4 pm

or by appointment.

Callbacks by invitation are scheduled for Sunday, September 12 from noon to 5 pm.

Auditions are open to males and females ages 10-18. Rehearsals start in late September and run through late January. The production opens in Newington in late January and tours to towns throughout Connecticut on weekends from February through April. Those auditioning should prepare one song from a musical (uptempo or ballad, no songs by popular artists, please) as well as a monologue. Both the song and the monologue should be memorized.

To schedule an audition, or for more information on how to prepare for your audition, please call the theatre at 860.666.6282. Pre-scheduled auditions are preferred, but walk-ins are welcomed. No previous performance experience is required. There is no cost to audition, however a participation fee of $950 applies to those who accept roles in the cast. (Participants may earn back a portion of the participation fee through program ad sales.) Auditions are held in the NCTC Black Box Theatre located at 743 North Mountain Road in Newington, CT. Technical and stage crew positions also are available; please call the theatre for details.

 

Other NCTC Programs

No audition is required for the Broadway Show Choir or for NCTC's Summer Stage or Summer Stock programs. For programs that do require an audition, no payment is required until a child accepts a role.
