NCTC will not be offering theatre classes during the 2010-2011 season.

All classes can be taken more than once as teachers will adjust activities to challenge both new and returning students.
CREATIVE PLAY FOR PRESCHOOLERS
Through music, dance, stories, costumes and a different theme each week, preschoolers will explore their voices, bodies and imaginations, and learn to work together as a group to discover the exciting new world of theater. Parent or caregiver attendance is required. Tuesday session offered at NCTC in conjunction with the Newington Parks & Recreation Department.
Ages: 3 – 5
Day/Time: Tuesdays, 10 to 11 am (1 hour) / Saturdays, 9 to 10 am (1 hour)
Duration: 8 weeks

BEGINNING DRAMA I: TRAVELS AROUND THE WORLD
Pack your bags and your imagination! This introduction to performance will use fables and folktales from around the world to engage students in pretend journeys, learning about world cultures and music, related games and activities, and acting out the stories they’ll hear. Classes will conclude with a Share Day for parents and friends.
Ages: 5 – 8
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 5:30 to 6:30 pm (1 hour)

BEGINNING DRAMA II: INTRODUCTION TO STAGE TECHNIQUES
Learn the secrets of every actor! Students will explore voice and movement, characters, pantomime, and improvisation as they develop focus and concentration and learn to work together as an ensemble. Classes will conclude with a Share Day for parents and friends. No previous stage experience required.
